WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END A GREAT YEAR

The branch christmas party was 'JUST GREAT' it was a perfect cap to a really good year for us.

The fifty one revelers at the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel had a most enjoyable afternoon of good comradeship and everyone departed with a smile on there face and saying 'When is the next one' - you can't get better than that.

I even sang quite a few songs, I would like to apologise for that as i do enjoy singing but i have a bloody awful voice!

Pictures - i will put the names in later

Just about 'set up' ready for the crowd - thanks Debbie, Norma, Mick & Mike.

The choir!???

You can tell from looking at this photo that Peter Bearman still believes in Santa.

Richard Brown getting his Pessy from Santa - the only clear photo i got of him all the other pics he had te sun umbrella in front of his face.

John & Marea Mears looking lovely and looking younger every year!!

Micks (green wig0always on the move can't keep him out of the camera!

Santa gets all the good perks! -I got to sweep up!

Now you know whySanta volunteers for the job every year!!

Sam Gregory delivering his rendition of (Forgot for now) a 'slightly' sugestive ditty.

Mick & Mike the "Dynamic Duo"  Christmas party organisers 'Extraordinaire'

Kevin Bedford 'getting in the swing'

 GOOD DAY OUT

A quick visit to Sydney town by one of our Stalwarts from Victoria John Mclellands and his lovely wife Betty was an occasion for a few of us Sydneysiders to meet them at the Manly Wharf at Circular Quay on a Beautiful & Bright Monday morning (April 24).

A lovely day in Darling Harbour - The 'Bark Endeavour' behind us, I had been spinning a yarn about how the anchor was dropped and raised when I did a trip on her, some years ago now. - We got this passer-by to take the photo for us, turned out he was an ex Grey Funnel man, we thanked him for the photo but told him we were 'real 'sailors!

Following a short circular walk to allow our ‘Bar Sniffer’ extraordainare Peter Bearman to tune his antennae in, which told us that there wasn’t much happening around the Quay area, so being party bound we returned to the wharf were we boarded the next Ferry to Darling harbour.

I can report with confidence that more salt water flowed ‘under the bridge’ during our wait for the ferry and during the trip around to DH than ever flowed under than that ferry’s keel!

We settled nicely into the bar at Monty’s, discussing the days of Monty’s glory days and the delights of the 6 o’clock swill!

Thank goodness they have long gone.

A tasty very lunch from the pub’s $6 menu was really enjoyable, as was the whole day!

It was “A reet good day oot” as my dad would ‘ave said.

We broke up at about 3 o’clock to wend our various ways home after all promising to go and stay with John & Betty the next time we are in Victoria.

Our resident stand up Comic Peter bearman stepping ashore. Of course you can,t hear the Boatswains pipes sounding or the canons firing the salute, we arranged it specially for the Mclellands vist.
